This has got to be the MOST watched supernatural series. Not only does it consist of two gorgeous hunks in the form of Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley, but the storyline is amazing, the love triangle is intense, and anything goes in this series. No one is safe. The story takes place in Mystic Falls, where is follows the life of adopted, 17 year old Elena Gilbert. The vampire Stefan, follows her around from the start and pursues her until they are so in love its too much, and we only discover later it is because she is the exact imagine of a woman he loved years ago, Katherine, who is Elena's doppelganger. Stefan falls in love with Elana, realising she is nothing like Katherine, and he decides to settle back in Mystic Falls to be with her. His love for her appears crazy intense, which is why, Damon(his older brother), the darker, more cold hearted vampire brother, returns, to make his brother's life a living hell, but then he, too sees Elena, and we discover both brothers with inlove with Katherine, who originally turned them into vampires, more than a century ago. Damon tries his best to be the BIG baddie and a constant thorn in Stefan's side, but its as time passes that he is also falling in love with Elena, who always seems to hope that he will change. Things heat up when its discovered that Bonnie, Elena's best friend, is a witch, whose descendant, Emily played a major role in the decimation of Katherine decades earlier. Also part of the cast is Elena's friend, Caroline and her childhood sweetheart and ex, Matt and his bestie, Tyler. Elena's brother, Jeremy, is kept in the dark about the going on's in the town, for the first part of season 1 as Elena is willing to do anything to protect him, but bad things just keep happening, and when his girlfriend, Vicky(who is also Matt's sister) is killed mysteriously, he starts to ask questions. The founding families, which include most of these young teenagers parents, think they are the only ones who know about the supernatural, and yet when its discovered that Katherine is alive, Damon is willing to do anything to find her, and Stefan is willing to do anything to keep her away. Things are always busy in Mystic Falls and with Kathering back, Elena is compromised as they are identical and Katherine is not afraid to pretend to be Elena now and again when it suits her. Only Damon and Stefan are able to tell the difference, and Katherine uses Caroline as a pawn in her game, only to kill her, but without knowing that she has drunk Damon's blood earlier and she becomes a vampire. To top that off, Tyler discovers his family has a secret of its own, and on the accidental death of another girl, realises he is cursed and will turn into a werewolf at the next full moon. This is a secret of lies, and secrets. Caroline, who started dating Matt, does not know how to deal with being a vampire and Bonnie, who can't seem to stand them at all, has a hard time making peace with the fact, especially after Caroline kills a guy Bonnie liked. Things go from bad to worse as Elena discovers her history teacher, Alaric, is actually the husband of her biological mother and her adopted uncle, John, is actually her biological father. The brother spend the whole first season trying to save and protect Elena and when it comes to light that she is a sacrifice for the family of The First Vampire family, they are willing to go to any lengths to stop it from happening. A long story short, Elena's aunt and guardian, Jenna gets killed along with her father, John, and many others who get taken out throughout the series. This is definitely one of the must-see series out there right now, filled with riveting suspense, and a love, that seems to be the only thing that keeps everyone centered at the end of the day. Season 1 ended with Matt and Caroline's mom knowing the truth, Bonnie bringing a dead Jeremy back to life, Katherine finally being set free, and Damon at deaths door, having being bitten my werewolf, Tyler(werewolves bite are lethal to vampires), confessing his love to Elena, who realises she might love him also, and Stefan being willing to give up everything, even Elena, to save him.
Season 2 started Thursday 15 September 2011, with the search for the missing Stefan who has turned bad boy along with the hybrid, Klaus, who seems to be behind it all. Elena and Damon spend all their time searching for him, only for Damon to discover his brother might have gone off the deep end, whereas Caroline realises she might want to be with Tyler, even though there different natures are the reason they should be apart. Jeremy is still seeing his dead vampire exes and Caroline is in trouble, and Elena's love for Stefan seems to be the only thing that might be keeping him sane. Stay tuned for season 2, episode 2 on Thursday 22 September 2011.

The Secret Circle
Just started last Thursday about a town full of witches. Cassie Blake, is a teen, who's mother dies in what appears to be a tragic accident, and she is sent to live with her grandmother, Jane, where she soon discovers that all isn't as it appears to be, especially with her, and the secrets both her mother and grandmother have kept from her as to why they moved in the first place. She finds out she is a descendant of witches, and that a group of teens, who are also witches, have been waiting for her to complete the circle which would give them all the ultimate power. The is Diana, who appears to be sweet and caring, who is the leader-and her loving, devoted boyfriend, Adam(who played John Connor in the Chronicles of Sarah Connor), who immediately feels a mystical connection with Cassie that he can't seem to control. Then there is Faye, who plays the rebel, and her sidekick Mellissa, and finally Nick, who completes the six. In the first episode not much is given away about Nick who appears to be on his own buzz, whereas Faye is hungry for more power and is not afraid to test the waters. No one in the town knows that they are using magic, except for Faye's mother, Dawn and Diana's father, Gale. Things look like they will start to unravel as Cassie is finally forced to realise that she does have powers, but what is she going to do about it
Awkward.
New teenage series that is currently on its 9th episode, about a Jenna Hamilton, who after accidentally nearly killing herself, is labelled suicidal, and also hooks up with THE popluar at school, Matty, at camp, where they start a secret 'relationship' only for her to want more, but him being unwilling to go public. She also receives a mysterious letter from "A Friend" which enables her to take risks, and challenge herself to get out of her comfort zone, where she befriends another popular 'hottie', Jake, and she is caught in a sorta love triangle with a guy she wants to be with who doesn't want to be seen with her, and a guy who not only wants to be with her, but also isn't afraid to be seen with her. It's like any other high school drama with the cheerleader, Sadie, tormenting her constantly, and the besties, who are just as unpopular as her. What makes this a series definitely worth watching is the complete honesty it portrays, about life for a teenager, and the popular guy isn't a manipulative jerk, who belittles others. Its sweet, its romantic, its funny and you can't help but connect with Jenna, and her constant realisations that as females we tend to define ourselves by what other people think of us, and allow ourselves to become invisible because it seems safer, and we journey with her as she starts to find herself, and realise that only she can define who she is.
